The religious community has been a vocal part of the national debate over equal rights for persons who are LGBT. A single religious position has dominated media attention. Many people of faith would like to express a different point of view: Namely, that our religious beliefs have led us to a conviction that LGBT people should be protected from discrimination and that their relationships should enjoy the legal benefits afforded by other couples by society.
